Fighting .

1.President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine has issued a decree approving the demobilization of conscripts who enlisted in the army before Russia's invasion and have completed their service.

2.According to local officials, Russian rocket attacks resulted in the death of at least two individuals in Ukraine's northeastern Kharkiv region, and another man lost his life further west in the Chernihiv region.

3.Ukraine's senior diplomatic adviser, Ihor Zhovkva, informed The world News that he couldn't rule out the possibility of a deliberate Russian missile targeting the delegations of Zelenskyy and the Greek prime minister during their recent visit to Odesa. Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council and a strong ally of President Vladimir Putin, rejected the accusation.

Politics and Diplomacy

1.Joining NATO, Sweden became the 32nd member, relinquishing its longstanding neutrality—a decision triggered by Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

2.China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized that China perceives itself as a "force for peace" globally while expressing the intention to strengthen its connections with Russia. Wang stated to reporters, "Amidst the intricate challenges in the international landscape, China will remain committed to being a catalyst for peace, stability, and progress in the world."

3.A month after his removal from the role of Ukraine's military commander-in-chief, Valerii Zaluzhnyi has been appointed as the country's new envoy to the United Kingdom.

4.On Friday, Zelenskyy is set to meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Turkey, where they are expected to engage in discussions about the ongoing war, the Black Sea grain deal, and bilateral relations.

5.Addressing the audience in Prague, French President Emmanuel Macron urged Ukraine's allies not to show cowardice, following criticism of his suggestion to deploy Western soldiers for ground combat in Ukraine.
