[JUST IN]: 9 Killed In Canada High School Shooting

At least nine people have been killed after a gunwoman opened fire at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School in northern British Columbia, Canada, before dying from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in one of the deadliest school attacks in the country’s history.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) confirmed that ten people died in total, including the attacker. Authorities said six victims were killed inside the school, while two others were found dead at a nearby residence linked to the incident. Another victim later died while being rushed to hospital.

At least two people remain hospitalised with serious injuries, while about 25 others are receiving treatment for non-life-threatening wounds. Police confirmed that no additional suspects are at large and that there is no further threat to the public.

Officers reportedly arrived at the scene within two minutes of receiving the emergency call, a response officials believe helped prevent further casualties.

Tumbler Ridge is a small mountain town in northern British Columbia with a population of about 2,400 residents. The affected school serves roughly 160 students between grades seven and twelve. Authorities have closed the school for the rest of the week and arranged counselling services for students and staff.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney expressed shock over the tragedy and cancelled scheduled official engagements, offering condolences to the victims’ families.

The attack has sparked renewed discussions across Canada about school safety, gun control, and community security following one of the country’s most devastating school shootings in recent history.
