Tragedy struck Garaha District in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State after suspected Boko Haram insurgents reportedly killed three Nigerian soldiers and razed down a military base during a daring daytime attack.

WorldNews gathered that the heavily armed insurgents stormed the community at about 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, launching their assault from multiple directions, including the Dabna and Lar axes.

Military Camp, Primary School Set Ablaze

According to local sources, the attackers invaded the military formation in Garaha District, setting the camp and a primary school within the village on fire.

Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos as sporadic gunshots echoed across the community while the insurgents advanced toward the military base.

The Chairman of Hong Local Government Area confirmed the incident to newsmen, stating that the soldiers on ground initially put up resistance before being overwhelmed.

“They Were Alert But Overpowered” — Eyewitness

A resident, Reverend Isaiah Yeriman, recounted that the troops were prepared and engaged the insurgents in a fierce gun battle.

“The military men were set and alerted and began to exchange gunshots in an effort to repel them, but unfortunately, the entire military camp was invaded and burnt down,” he said.

Yeriman disclosed that the attackers ambushed the soldiers from the rear through the Lar axis, leading to the deaths of three personnel.

Tragically, a civilian woman was reportedly hit by a stray bullet while attempting to escape the violence.

Weapons Looted, Armoured Vehicle Seized

Sources further revealed that the insurgents carted away weapons from the overrun camp, including an armoured vehicle, before torching the remaining structures.

“As I’m talking to you, no structure is left at the military base except the Living Faith Church,” Yeriman added.

He commended the bravery of the fallen soldiers, noting that they lost not only their lives but also personal belongings, food supplies, and operational equipment during the attack.

Allegations Of Internal Sabotage

Meanwhile, another anonymous eyewitness alleged possible internal betrayal, claiming the troops had initially repelled the insurgents with intensity before a coordinated ambush from the rear shifted the momentum of the battle.
