The Bundesliga encounter between Bayern Munich and Union Berlin scheduled for Saturday has been postponed due to heavy snowfall in Munich, as confirmed by Bayern in an official statement.
CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen emphasized the priority of fan and supporter safety.
The adverse weather conditions led to the suspension of hundreds of flights at Munich airport and the cancellation of long-distance trains. Road closures around Bayern’s stadium were also reported.
Information about a potential rescheduled date will be communicated promptly.
The teams’ next fixtures include Bayern visiting Eintracht Frankfurt and Union Berlin hosting Monchengladbach, both on the following Saturday.
