Former President Muhammadu Buhari reflected on his eight years in office, stating that he did his best as Nigeria’s leader and left it to the people to judge.
Buhari acknowledged the challenges of governing Nigerians, describing them as difficult due to their strong sense of entitlement.
In his first interview since handing over power to President Bola Tinubu, Buhari addressed the rumors of a cabal influencing his presidency, stating it “must have been” hijacked, but unsure if anyone who broke the law could escape consequences.
He defended the controversial naira redesign, attributing it to the need to curb ill-gotten wealth.
Buhari also discussed how technology played a role in his 2015 election victory and expressed uncertainty about achieving all his goals but affirmed he doesn’t miss being in office.
