The Court of Appeal in Lagos has dismissed the appeal filed by Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP), against the election victory of Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The three-member panel, led by Yargata Nimpar, unanimously affirmed the judgment of the election petitions tribunal that upheld Sanwo-Olu’s victory in the March 11 election.
The court ruled that Rhodes-Vivour did not provide enough evidence to support his claim that Sanwo-Olu and his running mate were not qualified to contest the election.
The appeal court upheld the tribunal’s decision on the rejection of testimonies, stating that Rhodes-Vivour’s appeal lacked merit.
