Sam Larry, the music promoter, has denied any involvement in the passing of Mohbad, the up-and-coming singer known as Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, aged 27.
Mohbad’s demise occurred on Tuesday, and he was laid to rest on Wednesday.
Following his death, an old video emerged on social media depicting an incident where Mohbad was asked to leave a music video shoot involving Zlatan, the rapper.
In the video, Sam Larry and a group of individuals appeared at the shoot, requesting Mohbad’s departure. Zlatan intervened to prevent any altercation.
Furthermore, a petition filed by Mohbad against Sam Larry, alleging threats to his life and property damage, surfaced on social media.
Dated June 27, 2023, the petition claimed that a group, allegedly led by Sam Larry Elegushi, had invaded the premises with weapons.
However, in a video released on Friday, Sam Larry expressed his affection for Mohbad and denied any involvement in his demise.
He stressed that the videos circulating on social media were from past incidents.
He maintained that even in moments of disagreement, he would never wish harm upon the singer.
Sam Larry explained in Yoruba language, “Mohbad is my brother, and I cared deeply for him. We had plans to travel together for shows, even if we had misunderstandings. I cannot harm Mohbad; I love him dearly, and God knows my intentions.”
Additionally, the Elegushi of Eti-Osa’s palace clarified that Sam Larry is not a member of the royal family.
