Lionel Messi’s time in Paris did not go as planned, according to his former teammate Neymar. The Brazilian forward said in an interview that Messi’s family was “very affected” by their time in France, and that he understands why Messi has decided to leave PSG.
Neymar said that Messi had “won everything” and that he was going to a place where he would be “well received.” He also said that he was disappointed that they were not able to win the Champions League together, but that he understood that it was a difficult task.
“Real Madrid’s galacticos didn’t win the Champions League,” Neymar said. “We had a strong team. Messi, Mbappé and I are the best in the world, we know that, but unfortunately it didn’t happen.”
Messi’s departure from PSG is a major blow to the club’s hopes of winning the Champions League. However, Neymar said that he is confident that PSG will be able to rebuild and challenge for the title in the future.
“We have a good team,” Neymar said. “We will continue to work hard and we will be back.”
